I learned to love fried shrimp as a child child when my parents would go every Sunday after church to Christie's on S. Main St. Fried shrimp is still my favorite food I think and I had forgotten about Chrissy's. I will be 94 years old on May 24, 2027 and I want to have my birthday dinner at Christie's. I will look forward to that. Just can't wait. Thank you Christie's for having the best fried shrimp in Houston.
Grilled Catfish Combination Platter review by William
The batter is so delicious I didn't even want to have sauce. But, the sauce is home made and so good I had to have at least a little. Delicious! There is no better fried Catfish and Shrimp anywhere in Texas!

Wonderful! I have been visiting this fantastic restaurant since I was a child and their fried shrimp has never changed. It is the absolutely the best in Houston. The operator and General Manager, Maria is so kind and welcoming and the serving staff is very friendly and professional. It is also one of the very few restaurants that I have visited that do not rush you in and out. You are welcome to sit, visit and enjoy your meal without feeling like you are being pushed out the door for the next customer. There are so many things I love about Christie's. If you haven't tried it, you are missing out on this great legacy restaurant.

Christie's fried shrimp are always big, plump shrimp, fried to perfection, and absolutely delicious! No one does seafood better than Christie's. My husband, Jeff, and I have been going to Christie's for almost 50 years, and we've Never been disappointed. The service is always exceptional, with many attentive and friendly servers. You'll be returning to Christie's often.

We have not visited Christies inquite sons time. And much to our delicht the foid was fantastic, just as qe remembered it was. The owner/manager, Ms Christi was in the dining area, walking around and greeting guets. This the epitome of a great family restaurant with great food, great service and a wonderful experience.

My wife and I tried the chargrilled oysters at Christie's Seafood & Steaks in Houston, and they were fantastic! They came out hot with a buttery garlic sauce, topped with parmesean cheese and just the right amount of char from the grill. The oysters were the perfect size! They were fresh and tender, not overcooked, and the flavor was rich without being too heavy. The sauce that remains after having the oysters, is perfect for soaking up with some bread. Overall, a super solid appetizer and definitely something I'd order again.
