Our Story
Feeding Houston for over 109 years
For more than 109 years, Christie's Seafood & Steaks has entertained countless Texans and travelers with delicious, homestyle cooking made from the same recipes we've used since the very beginning. Theodore Christie, a Greek immigrant from Constantinople, began selling fried fish sandwiches on the Galveston waterfront in 1917. A century later, Christie's is a three dining room restaurant in Houston, serving a wide ranging menu of delicious dishes and drinks. With the support of our community, we hope to continue Christie's rich tradition for another century and beyond.

Crawfish Bisque
This is some of the BEST Crawfish Bisque that I've found in Houston Texas. Outstanding! The CUP serving is LARGE! But, you will regret NOT getting a BOWL- Because IT IS JUST THAT DELICIOUS!! Creamy- the Right amount of Crawfish ( not too little- not too much- and the exact and right amount of seasonings! The Best!

Seafood Gumbo
I ordered the cup only. I wish I had ordered the bowl. Eating this delicious gumbo transported me back to Louisiana where I lived for a few years. I could picture an old Cajun in the back room kitchen making magic in their gumbo pot. It's that good. For a few minutes I was back home on the bayou. Christie's has my heart. See you there !

Famous Fried Shrimp served with French Fries and Salad
I have been a fan of Christie's ever since I was a young boy and I have very fond memories of my Dad bringing home a huge box of Christie's delicious fried shrimp from their S. Post Oak location and was hooked with that very first bite! That location closed up years ago, as have their 3 locations that were at various addresses on S. Main, all of which I've dined at in the past. Thank goodness their current location on Westheimer is still thriving and going strong as Christie's is my "go-to" spot for fried shrimp! I had the pleasure of treating an out-of-town friend to dinner last night and she was just as blown away by the fried shrimp as I have been for over 60 years now. Kudos go to those in the kitchen who continue to tantalize my tastebuds with every meal, to the attentive waitstaff and of course to the Christie family for always satisfying my cravings for fresh from the Gulf fried shrimp!
